| Position | The Position
The Board Treasurer provides financial leadership and oversight to help ensure W.O.R.L.D. Academy remains financially strong, transparent, compliant, and positioned for long-term sustainability. As a member of the Governing Board, the Treasurer safeguards public resources while helping ensure financial decisions advance the school’s mission and commitments to students, families, and the community.

| Meetings | The Board of Directors meets monthly. During the pre-authorization phase, meetings are held virtually via Google Meet. Upon authorization, meetings will transition to a combination of virtual and in-person meetings, with regular meetings held at the school site. |

| Responsibilities | Board members are responsible for providing strategic governance and fiduciary oversight; upholding the school’s mission, vision, and values; participating in monthly board meetings and committee work; supporting fundraising, community partnerships, and advocacy; ensuring compliance with Nevada public charter school laws and nonprofit governance requirements; and serving as ambassadors for W.O.R.L.D. Academy within the community. Board members are expected to prepare for meetings, actively participate in governance, complete required training, maintain confidentiality, avoid conflicts of interest, and contribute their expertise to the long-term success of the Academy. |

| Giving | W.O.R.L.D. Academy maintains a 100% Board Giving & Engagement expectation. Every board member is expected to make a personally meaningful annual contribution and actively support the Academy through fundraising, community partnerships, advocacy, in-kind contributions, or securing resources aligned with their capacity. Founding board members work collaboratively with the Governance Committee to establish an annual give/get commitment that reflects their individual capacity to contribute. |

| Development | New board members participate in a comprehensive onboarding process that includes board orientation, review of governance documents and policies, Nevada Open Meeting Law training, charter school governance and fiduciary responsibility training, committee onboarding, and ongoing governance and leadership development throughout the year. |
