| About us | The Ivy School is a proposed public charter school slated to serve Las Vegas families beginning in Fall 2027. Initially serving Grades K-2, we will expand to a full K-8 capacity, pioneering a Brain-Based Museum School model that bridges the gap between neuroscience and the classroom. While our programming is designed for the benefit of every child, our curriculum is intentionally engineered to support students with language-based disabilities, such as Dyslexia, ensuring equitable access to high-quality education. Our model is built on three transformative pillars we call The P3 Framework—Power, Passion, and Purpose—to ensure 4- or 5-star caliber outcomes. POWER (Foundational Mastery): We utilize a multi-sensory approach—incorporating sight, touch, taste, smell, and sound—to align with neuroscience principles of how the brain learns best. This “Power” phase directly supports our performance on the Kindergarten Entry Assessment (KEA), specifically targeting the Language, Literacy, and Cognitive domains. By building a strong sensory foundation, we ensure students are on track for Read-By-Grade-3 (RBG3) proficiency targets. PASSION (Inquiry-Based Exploration): We move beyond the four walls of the classroom, taking students to museums and historical sites to blend object-based inquiry with Project-Based Learning (PBL). We partner students with Griots (community experts) to align academic projects with individual passions. This high-engagement model is designed to not maximize attendance and meet our goal of a chronic absenteeism rate below 10%, but to also help students identify their passions. PURPOSE (Community Leadership): The Ivy School transforms into a living museum where students become the experts, presenting their learning to the community. This builds the “Purpose” needed for students to advocate for themselves and their neighbors. By blending the Science of Human Behavior and the Science of Compassion, we foster intrinsic motivation and emotional literacy, using restorative justice practices to decrease negative behaviors and build resilient, socially just leaders. The Ivy School is committed to being a 4- or 5-star caliber school. Our governing board will provide rigorous oversight, using SMART goals and state-verified metrics to monitor academic growth, financial viability, and organizational health. We ensure that every student—including those from historically underserved groups—reaches their full potential. |
